We have built strong business ties with several state-owned enterprises in China over the course of six decades, acquiring the distribution rights for world-famous brands such as Gulong, Eagle Coin, and Pearl River Bridge. Our expertise lies in bringing innovative and health-conscious food solutions to the market, including preservative-free and nitrite-free products, to meet the evolving demands of modern consumers..

How We Began
Established in 1959 by the late philanthropist Mr. Lee Seng Fong, Makmur Malaya Sdn Bhd started from humble beginnings as a trading company that imported canned goods and Chinese tea from China.
Over the decades, we have navigated through market transformations, counterfeit challenges, and shifting consumer preferences while staying steadfast in our commitment to quality. Under the leadership of Mr. Lee Chee Hian, who joined in 1991, we introduced groundbreaking innovations such as easy-open lids and nitrite-free luncheon meat, positioning ourselves as industry pioneers.
In the year 2000, we marked yet another significant milestone with the establishment of Makmur Food Industries Sdn Bhd, a Halal-certified manufacturer of canned food products including Makmur and Mi; which have grown to become household names in South East Asia. In 2011 we acquired HACCP, ISO22000, GMP and other certifications, further cementing our commitment to quality, as well as our position as a key player in the food industry. Our strategic expansion into digital marketing and social media has further strengthened our brand presence and consumer engagement.
